Install Click Reports for CRM 4

NOTE: ClickDimensions will end technical support for customers using ClickDimensions in Microsoft CRM 4.0 on December 31, 2016.  See this announcement for details.

The ClickDimensions Click Reports will give a list of links in an email that was sent out, how many clicks on each there were and who clicked on them. If you have CRM 4.0 and are running SQL Server 2005, these reports will need to be installed manually. If you have any newer version of SQL or are running CRM 2011 or 2013, the reports are installed along with the rest of the ClickDimensions customizations.

ClickDimensions provides two custom email click report files for CRM 4.0. These reports work together and must be uploaded into Microsoft CRM. The files are:

Email Click Report.rdl – the master email click report that shows the number of clicks per link for each link in an email sent from ClickDimensions. This report is associated with the ClickDimensions Email Send records

Email Click Sub-Report.rdl – a sub-report that is called from the master report and shows detail about exactly who clicked each link in the email.

If you are running SQL Server 2005 download this file: SQL 2005 Click Reports CRM 4.

Start by downloading the zip file and extracting the report files to a location on your computer.

Upload Procedure

To upload the report files go to Workplace > My Work > Reports.

Click the New button to create a new report.

Select Existing File from the Report Type menu.

Then click the browse button and upload the master report named Email Click Report.rdl.

File Location

Set the Categories, Related Record Types and Display In values as seen below.


NOTE: If your default language for CRM is not English – change the Languages field to “All languages”.

Your screen should look like this:

Now click Save and New and upload the sub-report as below.

Choose Record Type: Existing File. Browse for the file on your computer. Add Marketing Report to the Categories. Your screen should look like this:

Click Save and Close.
